How to Deal with Job Uncertainty: 6 Ways to Help You Feel More Hopeful and Calm
Having been made redundant three times in my career, I genuinely understand how job uncertainty can feel.
Accept that you have a lot to offer
Allocate time to write a list or create a mindmap of your skills. These can be hard skills such as specific software you can use or processes you can facilitate or soft skills such as leadership or building relationships.
Realise what you want
A great way of doing this is to discover your values and seek an organisation that works well with them. If you are feeling creative, you could make mood boards and collages. You might not be sure of the one big specific thing you want to achieve, so start with smaller ideas of what you want your daily life to include and as you begin to visualise, a plan will become clear.
Help yourself feel inspired.
It can be hard to feel inspired, never mind lover the last year or so while living in a global pandemic! Here are some podcasts, social media accounts and shows I go to when I want inspiration for:

Focus on your energy
By ensuring you look after yourself by eating healthy food, getting outside, and feeding your mind and soul, you’ll be able to get a hold of the anxiety surrounding your job uncertainty.
Accept that some days you will be upset or frustrated
Being hopeful isn’t about being happy all the time or remaining positive when things aren’t going your way. It’s natural to go through lots of different emotions, and accepting this will help you grow.
Learn new skills
There are many resources online, free webinars and conferences. Learning new skills will make you feel ahead of the game, more confident in current roles, and applying for a new role.
It can also be helpful to talk through what is happening with someone unconnected to your workplace or personal life. If you would benefit from a Complimentary Coaching Session, contact me here.
